Rules
The 2023 Wisconsin Backgammon Championships use USBGF rules with options in place, as follows:
Clocks
All events except the Novice Division, Quickies, and Cancelgammon are Clocks Required: all matches must be played with a clock.
The Novice Division, Quickies, and Cancelgammon are Clocks if Agreed: clocks will only be used if both players agree to use a clock.
In the Open division, Super Jackpot, and Badger Classic Masters, clock settings are 2 minutes per point with a 12 second delay. In the Intermediate division, clock settings are 2 minutes per point with a 15 second delay.
In Doubles, clock settings are 3 minutes per point with a 15 second delay.
In Speedgammon, clock settings are 2 minutes per match with a 10 second delay.
In all other events, clocks (when used) are set to 2 minutes per point with a 15 second delay if at least one player is an Intermediate or Novice player. If both players are Open players, clock settings are 2 minutes per point with a 12 second delay.
USBGF membership
USBGF membership is required to play in the Open or Intermediate divisions of the Wisconsin Backgammon Championships. Non-members may purchase memberships on site (currently, the cheapest option is $5 for a one-month membership, with auto-renewal).

- Each player may make their own choice whether or not to use a bafflebox.
